Dedicated server room rental in Astana at Akashi Data Center is an isolated space under the client’s full control, not a single rack and not a shared section of the hall. On the site the product is a dedicated server room: a turnkey engineering solution for scalable enterprise IT. Cooling, access control, monitoring and fire suppression are set to the room. The team has on-site workspaces and 24/7 support. The first phase (DC-1) launches in May 2027, so the conversation now is a configuration and a reservation, not a move-in to a hall that is already open.
What is dedicated server room rental?
A turnkey hall is colocation of a whole room. The equipment stays yours. The site provides engineering, power, cooling and a perimeter. It is not rental of someone else’s server, and it is not a cloud. It is not a shared cage either: the product page separates the hall from a shared zone and from a single cabinet.
The three formats on the campus are sketched in Where to place servers in Kazakhstan. Below is what the hall itself provides. The cabinet as its own product is in the rack rental guide.
How does a dedicated hall differ from a cabinet and a cage?
A cabinet is one lockable rack. The cabinet rental page states 1200 mm width, coded access, dual PDUs and density up to 20 kW, including for AI/ML. You can start with one cabinet. The commercial range runs from 1 to 1,000+. That range is commercial. It is not an engineering cap on the campus.
A cage is a dedicated section of the hall for several racks, with its own perimeter. Only authorized staff enter, around the clock, without renting the whole hall. Standard and non-standard cabinets of any size can go inside. Power is guaranteed for the cage load. See the cage page.
A dedicated hall is the whole room under the client’s full control, including custom engineering. Cabinets of any type and size. A perimeter around a group of racks, when a whole hall is not required, remains the cage format.
Which systems are set to the room?
The product page sets cooling, access control, monitoring and fire suppression to the room. That is a description of the service, not a measurement of a room already handed over.
Power for the hall sits on the campus contour:
- two independent feeds, active/active, with 110 kV redundancy;
- dual electrical redundancy per building;
- UPS with 5/4N redundancy and up to 10 minutes of battery backup;
- backup generators — 12 hours of autonomy at full load;
- two fuel suppliers, with a 4-hour delivery SLA;
- automatic failover and load balancing.
The campus fire contour: triple-layer detection, gas suppression, dual redundancy of suppression systems. On the hall page, fire suppression is one of the systems set to the client’s requirements.
Cooling in the design: Astana’s climate allows free cooling for much of the season. Free-cooling and hybrid modes are designed to cut energy use by up to 40% versus a conventional scheme. The target PUE is below 1.4. These are design targets, not a measurement of an operating hall. Liquid cooling in the campus description is tied to module DC-4 and to high-density configurations. Until the hall is handed over, that contour cannot be described as already running. High-density AI/ML loads are covered in GPU cluster placement.
What power figure belongs to the hall?
The site does not publish a separate “kilowatts per dedicated hall” figure. Capacity is discussed individually. Module supply is stated separately, and those are design figures, not a measured density of a handed-over hall:
- DC-1, the first phase, up to 15 kW per rack at a design IT load of 5.28 MW;
- DC-2 and DC-3, up to 30 kW and 12 MW of IT each;
- DC-4, up to 150 kW per rack, liquid cooling, design IT capacity up to 30 MW.
Design power of the complex after every phase is up to 100 MW. The campus is planned for 4,224 racks in four buildings on 11 hectares. Equipment mass should be checked against the stated floor load of 2 t/m² and a raised floor of 1.6 m. The campus has two loading terminals with freight elevators. The “up to 20 kW” figure belongs to the cabinet product, not to a ceiling on the dedicated hall.
How do access and support work?
Access-controlled rooms operate around the clock. Remote hands are available 24/7 for technical operations on site. The campus has multi-perimeter access control and 24/7 CCTV. The team has on-site workspaces. Support on the product page is stated as round-the-clock, on site.
The list of admitted people is better collected before delivery. For a hall, the perimeter and access control are set to the requirements: they are not reduced to a code on one cabinet door. The site does not publish a remote-hands response time in minutes, or a tariff.
Where is the campus, and what does that give data in Kazakhstan?
The campus is street С316, site 7, Astana, Kazakhstan. Four independent optical entries connect to the East–West digital corridor. The site works with several providers; the specific set of operators is not fixed in the general note, and connectivity options are discussed individually.
Colocation gives the equipment a physical address in Kazakhstan. If the servers hold personal data, the place of storage is regulated by law. How that is framed for placement is in Data localization in Kazakhstan. The company decides which data that is.
When can a team move in?
The first phase launches in May 2027. Construction progress is published on the construction progress page. Until the hall opens, the conversation with the site is a configuration reservation, not a delivery slot.
Against the 5.28 MW design IT load of DC-1, 5.54 MW is reserved. The pre-launch pipeline is 107% of DC-1 capacity. These are different quantities: 5.54 MW is the reserved volume, 5.28 MW is the design IT load of phase one.
The request goes on the contacts page. It helps to say at once that the need is a whole hall, not a cabinet or a cage: cabinet count and size, which cooling, access, monitoring and fire-suppression systems to set, whether the team needs on-site workspaces, and the date relative to May 2027. Sales replies within one business day, by email and phone, runs a technical pre-qualification and a capacity check, and sends a proposal with prices, timelines and technical details. The site does not publish list prices. An NDA is available on request. Directly: sales.department@akashi.cloud, +7 700 810 3010.
Which of these terms land in the agreement — availability, power, remote hands, access, incident response and acceptance — is in What to check in a colocation agreement.
What does TCDD mean for a hall tenant?
Phase-one design documents hold Uptime TCDD Tier IV (Certification of Design Documents). That confirms the design, not the built hall. The on-site audit of the constructed facility — TCCF (Certification of Constructed Facility) — is planned for April 2027 and is not a certificate held today. TCDD is not TCCF. The designed availability of a Tier IV topology is 99.995%. That is a topology calculation, not a measured outage of the hall and not a contractual availability percentage for the dedicated room. The Tier IV page explains how fault tolerance is defined in the standard.
Frequently asked questions
