At GCCM 2026 in Almaty, Akashi Data Center signed a memorandum of understanding with Türk Telekom International (TTI), the international subsidiary of Türk Telekom.
The MoU sets a framework for cooperation on interconnecting our data centers, evaluating shared infrastructure, developing new connectivity routes, and building joint products and services. Both sides intend to turn those workstreams into concrete projects.
What the memorandum covers
The agreement, which we also confirmed in the coverage that followed the signing, includes:
- interconnecting data centers on both sides;
- evaluating shared use of infrastructure;
- creating new connectivity routes;
- developing joint next-generation products and services.
Why we signed
We see the memorandum as a step toward strengthening Kazakhstan’s — and Central Asia’s — links into global networks. TTI’s international fiber infrastructure can contribute to new connectivity routes through Kazakhstan.
TTI operates an international fiber network of about 50,000 km, including submarine cable systems, with more than 135 points of presence in 24 countries and more than 200 partners. Turkish reporting on the signing placed that network in the context of traffic between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
